It was a showdown of the unbeaten in Week 3. Irmo (2-0) traveled to take on Chapin (2-0). After a delay in the game Irmo struck first with a 35 yd. pass from QB John Ragin to WR Raekwon Heath. James Dooley extra point was missed giving Irmo the early 6-0 lead. Chapin came back and tacked on a TD and converted a 2pt conversion to go up 8-6 in the 1st Quarter. Chapin then struck again to push their lead to 15-6 going into the 2nd Quarter. In the 2nd Quarter Ragin scored on a 4 yard run. Irmo trailed Chapin 15-14 at the half. Irmo got back on the board and in the lead with a 29 yd. Field goal by K Angel Camarena to go up 16-15. Defense got big production in the 2nd half when S Kidre Diggs recovered a bad snap by Chapin in the end zone to help pad Irmo’s lead to 24-15. Chapin struck back quickly to tighten the game 24-21 going into the 4th. RB Kendrell Flowers got into the action with a 21 yard scamper to give Irmo the 31-21 lead. After the ensuing kickoff Chapin attempts a double pass and is quickly snuffed out by Diggs who returns it 50 yards for the score. Chapin gets a late score to finish the game as Irmo beats Chapin 38-27. Irmo takes on Laurens Friday Night at 7:30 pm at W.C. Hawkins Stadium
